Konica Minolta Acquires Meridian Imaging Solutions
to Reinforce its Business Base in North America
Tokyo (March 16, 2016) - Konica Minolta, Inc. (Konica Minolta) today announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Meridian Imaging Solutions., Inc. (Meridian), a North American distributor of MFPs (multi-functional peripherals) headquartered in Alexandria, VA, through its North American sales subsidiary, Konica Minolta Business Solutions USA., Inc. (KMBUS). Following the acquisition, Meridian will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of KMBUS.
Purpose of acquisition
Through this acquisition, Konica Minolta aims to
- increase its share in the huge market in the Washington D.C. area and reinforce its direct sales base to expand sales of MFPs, and
- leverage the resources of KMBUS to better serve the promising markets of digital printing systems and IT services in North America.
Overview of Meridian Imaging Solutions
Meridian is a leading distributor of MFPs in the region, including the US capital of Washington D.C. Demonstrating strength in sales and services tailored closely to the needs of local communities and customers, it enjoys a strong presence in both public-sector and private-sector markets. Since 2010, Meridian has been offering Managed IT (MIT) services to seek synergies with its MFP business.
