June 14, 2023
Tokyo (July 14, 2023) – Konica Minolta, Inc. (Konica Minolta) announced that the company has designated July 6 as ”Konica Minolta Group Safety Day” to remember the lessons from the accident at the Tatsuno factory of Konica Minolta Supplies Manufacturing Co., Ltd. on July 6, 2021. This is part of the Group’s efforts to ensure safety at its production sites.
On the Konica Minolta Group Safety Day, executives visit production sites and review with on-site employees the workplace environment, how to prevent accidents, and consider general safety initiatives to enhance safety and security in the workplace.
On July 6, 2023, a total of 24 executives made a visit to the manufacturing hubs across Japan. At the Tatsuno factory, they participated in a prayer for safety and a tree-planting ceremony and discussed with employees their recovery path from the accident to this day, as well as the commitment to safety and the safety management system.
Konica Minolta has fundamentally revised the Group Safety and Health Management Regulations to ensure that risk assessment*, the important measure for preventing disasters, is implemented. Konica Minolta is strengthening its efforts in disaster prevention, including information sharing beyond the boundaries of Group companies across its domestic and overseas production sites.
Konica Minolta keeps working to establish awareness of “safety as top priority” as part of its corporate culture and will continue its efforts to accurately identify disaster risks and control disasters.
*When a new equipment is installed or there are changes in the work process or materials at a production site, possible disaster risks are identified and assessed in advance and measures to reduce the disaster risk are taken. The person responsible for the installation makes a strict decision whether or not to implement the installation or changes.
