Konica Minolta Planetariums in Tokyo to Close Temporarily in Response to Novel Coronavirus

Tokyo (February 27, 2020) – Konica Minolta, Inc. (Konica Minolta) announced that three Konica Minolta planetariums will be closed temporarily from February 29 through March 15, in response to the domestic spread of the novel coronavirus. The 16-day closure will help enhance safety and reduce infection risks among the visitors and employees.
The three planetariums are operated by Konica Minolta Planetarium, Co., Ltd. (Konica Minolta Planetarium), a subsidiary of Konica Minolta:
- Konica Minolta PLANETARIA TOKYO (Yurakucho Mullion, ninth floor)
- Konica Minolta Planetarium MANTEN in Sunshine City (Sunshine City World Import Mart Building, Rooftop, Ikebukuro)
- Konica Minolta Planetarium TENKU in Tokyo SKYTREE TOWN (SKYTREE TOWN East Yard, seventh floor, Oshiage)
Konica Minolta Planetarium will swiftly notify the resumption of the theaters on March 16 and beyond, based on day-to-day general development of the infection in the country.
Konica Minolta Planetarium will process refund of the tickets purchased online for the closed period so that the customers will not need to process by themselves*. Customers who have purchased advance tickets at the PLANETARIA TOKYO ticket booth will get refund at the booth after the theater reopens. Details for the process will be posted on the PLANETARIA TOKYO website.
*Date of refund may differ, depending on the credit card used in purchasing.
Konica Minolta and Konica Minolta Planetarium will continue working on a smooth reopening of the theaters, while keeping adequate measures in minimizing infection risks.
