Konica Minolta Expands Deals with Global Major Accounts:
bizhub Supply Agreements Signed with DB Schenker
Tokyo (June 22, 2011) - Konica Minolta Business Technologies, Inc. (Konica Minolta) announced that the company has concluded a multi-year global agreement with DB Schenker, headquartered in Germany with its Asia Operations Headquarters in Singapore, Under the agreement, Konica Minolta supplies the international enterprise with the bizhub series of multi-functional peripherals (MFPs).
DB Schenker is the leader in the European land transportation sector and one of the global market leaders as the world's second largest air freight services and third largest ocean freight provider. As its Asia Operations Headquarters have developed a state-of-the-art in-house document system and are ready to launch it ahead of other regions around the globe, Konica Minolta has been chosen as partner in the project to implement bizhub systems at 197 sites of DB Schenker branches in 14 countries and regions across Asia, including those in Japan (Schenker-Seino).
DB Schenker requires ultimate productivity and reliability (averted malfunctions) in printing operations, as the company needs to smoothly carry out the critical job of producing a vast number of shipping documents intensively at regional headquarters and printing them out in each country within the region on time. In providing solutions that meet such needs, Konica Minolta's proposal for DB Schenker has been highly recognized for the high-speed bizhub PRO MFPs, based on advanced technologies developed for the production print sector, and the system to facilitate centralized monitoring and management at the regional headquarters. Additionally, Konica Minolta assists the customer in visualizing traditionally complex print cost and reducing expenses with a simple billing system including costs for equipment, services, and software licenses.
Konica Minolta has been driving global development of Optimized Print Services, consisting of high-quality products and services and support services such as output/document management and print environment optimization. Going forward, Konica Minolta will make further efforts to meet diverse demands of clients and strengthen Global Major Account sales to add global enterprise customers whose operations run around the world.
