Effects of the Tohoku Pacific Ocean Earthquake on the Konica Minolta Group
Tokyo (March 17, 2011) – The following is a summary report issued by Konica Minolta Holdings, Inc. (Konica Minolta) today regarding its status after the recent major earthquake and effects thereof:
Konica Minolta extends sincere condolences to the people who have been affected by the Tohoku Pacific Ocean Earthquake. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people and communities in the regions in the hope of swift recovery.
The status of damages by and effects of the earthquake to the Konica Minolta Group, as assessed at the time of the disclosure, are as follows:
1.Safety of employees
All employees of the Group have been accounted for. No major damages to the employees have been found.
2.Status of production sites and sales offices
At the several production sites in the Kanto region (Tokyo and surrounding prefectures), no major damages have been found. Depending on raw material procurement and electric power supply, however, concerns remain over the production activities from now on.
Damages to distribution sites and sales offices in the Tohoku (northeastern) region have been reported. For details the facilities are currently under investigation.
3.Impact on corporate performance
Impact on the Group's corporate performance for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2011, is limited. In the future, if any material impact on the Group's mid- or long-term corporate performance is found or estimated, it will be disclosed promptly.
