Konica Minolta to Acquire Dactyl Buro and OMR
Acquisition to strengthen customer base in France
Tokyo, Japan (January 18, 2016) – Konica Minolta, Inc. (hereinafter “Konica Minolta”) today announced that Konica Minolta Business Solutions France S.A.S. (hereinafter “KMBF”), its sales company of Business Technologies in France, signed a share purchase agreement under condition precedent on January 5, 2016, in order to acquire two French MFP (multi-functional peripheral) sales companies, Dactyl Buro du Centre (hereinafter “Dactyl Buro”) based in Bourges and OMR Impressions (hereinafter ”OMR”) based in Saint-Sebastian-Sur-Loire, currently held by their holding company, Finance et Conseil du Centre (hereinafter “FCC”). Upon completion of the acquisition, subject to the prior approval of the French Competition Authority, the two companies will operate as wholly-owned subsidiaries of KMBF.
Background and Aim of Acquisition
Both Dactyl Buro and OMR are major MFP sales companies with strength and expertise in their services and have built solid positions in the market. In 2010, the two companies jointly invested in establishing FCC as their holding company to share administrative and back-office operations and drive combined purchases toward further enhancement of their competitive advantage.
Ahead of the final year of its medium-term business plan TRANSFORM 2016, Konica Minolta has decided said acquisition to accelerate reinforcement of its business basis. Through the acquisition, the company will strengthen the direct sales structure in France and beyond, and build up a direct sales network covering all major cities in France. That will enable Konica Minolta not only to enhance its MFP sales capabilities but also strengthen competitive edges in the offerings and delivery for the digital print system and IT services fields with major growth potential in France.
